Arab’s Smokey Eye

One thing prominent about Arabs is their deep, dark, smokey eyeshadow. Culture is one big factor, since they dress in a conservative manner (which I love); putting the focus on their eyes has always been on the go.

Big and wide almond shape eyes paired with dark eyeshadow will create an illusion of a smaller eyes; bold statement; and in depth character.

Eyeshadow is put all over the lid and up above the crease for that full effect smokey eyes.

Since dark colors makes your eyes appear smaller, the key to open up the eyes is by putting white eyeliner on your lower water line and put eyeshadow under your eyes. In this way we can wear dark eyeshadows and at the same time rock on with big, bright beautiful eyes.

Asian’s Cat Eye

Asians are commonly identified with monolid. For us Filipino’s, most of us have small creased eyes, and unnoticeable brow bone (as it lays flat parallel to the eyelids).

Winged eyeliner and minimal eyeshadow for a natural look is always on the go for us. We sure love to show fresh looking skin just like the Koreans do.

Choose waterproof eyeliner on top and apply minimal kohl eyeliner (or no eyeliner at all) on lower waterline.  Also put light eyeshadow all over the eye lids, the same technique as Sandee Proud does. Extend the eyeshadow up above the crease but this time Anne Clutz is achieving the 'hooded eye', it is kinda similar to a drag queen eyeshadow technique. Notice that she left a space outlining her upper eyes to create an illusion of extended crease.

On doing cat eye, you can either go for upward pointed look- to make the eyes looks striking just like Anne does.

Or you can follow the direction of the outer corner of your eye downwards then strike a flick upwards for a bigger eyes effect/puppy eyes.

Final Thoughts

Whether you choose one of these look or a combination of the two, consider that the purpose of makeup is to enhance your strong points. It takes practice to achieve the look that’s best for you. But hey, no big deal we love makeup so it’s a journey worth an endeavour. That is the main reason why makeup becomes one of our best friends.
