Treating Acne & Acne Marks With Benzac? || What Makes Benzac Effective?

Finding an effective acne treatment in my personal opinion took quite some time.

Yes. You are right!

I’ve gone thru the process of buying a lot of over the counter products for acne, going once to the derma for pimple popping session and buying quite an expensive step by step acne treatment.

So thank God I bumped into Benzac and I’ve been using it till now for treatment for my acne and whiteheads.

But what makes Benzac effective?

To be honest, there is one trick I do to make Benzac effective, this is the same thing I do to my previous pimple treatment Duac and that is washing/cleansing my face with warm water, with mild soap of course.

Why do I need to wash my face with warm water?

The reason behind why I do this is simple, warm water prepares your skin. It opens up clogged pores. (At the time I have extreme pimples I take as hot as I can hot water and use it off all over my face. Please don’t do what I did, careful not to burn your skin. I did that because of stress and my acne flair hurts a lot that I’d rather have the warm feeling compare to the feeling of acne beating like a heart, yes my acne before felt like it has a beating heart under my skin)

And then after washing my face, I apply Benzac treatment on affected areas, especially where I have bumps, whiteheads and occasional breakout.

My advice on cleansing the face with warm water together with soap or cleanser of your choice before any acne home treatment?

I highly suggest washing with warm water before using any pimple treatment regardless of what it is. It may be soap, gel, cream or stick, whatever pimple eraser products there is available in the market. It kind of makes senses too, because when you go to professional derma for acne sessions they do steam your face, with the intention of opening up the pores.

Please take note that I only do this at night when I usually put Benzac on my acne so in the morning I regularly just wash my face with tap water so my pores are closed to avoid dirt and dust to stuck in.

Let’s move on to the aftermath of acne, acne marks and dark spots.

Let me clear one thing here Benzac cannot smoothen out acne marks like deep scar or hole.

But there is one good news; Benzac can gently lighten up dark acne marks. Simply because it can exfoliate the skin because of Benzac’s chemical properties.

What else can I do to remove acne marks, scarring, dark spots, enlarged pores and looking dull and old?

I personally suffer from this one, I was still young back then but after having acne, it felt like I’ve become old, dull, oily and dry at the same time. Like years run off.

So I will share with you what I learned over the years to bring back the youthful vibe on to my skin. These tips go along hand in hand and it is important to know that you cannot just pick one or two things you wanted to incorporate into your routine. I suggest you do all of these randomly for maximum results.

Here it goes!

Exercise

If you still don’t have the motivation to exercise I suggest visiting Chloe Ting's video. Her workout routine is fast, easy and you can immediately do at home in a small space.

Exercise is a very important factor in bringing back your youthfulness. Exercise helps brings back elasticity on your skin thus gives you a little tightness. Aside from that, it helps blood circulation a boost to distribute oxygen all over our body and also to your face.

Facial Massage
Doing facial massage before, I always follow Immy Maryam’s video, but when I started the home workout I skip facial massage. Facial massage is again good for blood circulation and it is better now because it is focused on facial area alone. It can also reduce bloating and to be honest, I do this because I wanted to reduce my double chin but it turned out that it helps with the overall appearance of the skin too.

Moisturise

When thinking about moisturizing we have to target two things.

Moisture from within and external moisture.

So what I do for internal moisture is drink enough water (careful not to overdo water intake and prevent water intoxication, enough water will do which means for me is gulping water whenever my throat is dry, you can also follow recommended water intake by the physician) and I also take herbal supplements. I take one tablespoon of Virgin Coconut Oil orally every day. I initially take VCO for a month straight but now I skip now and then. Listen to your body if you need it or just skip it for the next day. VCO really helps with moisture and I noticeably see the effect on my arm and legs because I rarely need to apply lotion anymore.

For external moisture, I use moisturizing gel. My favourite is The Face Shop Aloe Vera Gel. I usually use it in the morning and before I put sunblock and makeup on.

Protection Against the Sun

Classic umbrella and sunglasses will protect you from the heat of the sun and the usual sunblock. Please make sure you use sunblock properly if you need to go in the city, incorporate sunblock with light foundation so you will not attract dirt and pollution. Sunblock is normally sticky so if you just wear it on its own it will not be good for you skin.

Exfoliate
Taking off dead skin cells and other dirt will lighten up the skin thus will help lessen the appearance of acne marks and dark spots. So exfoliating is really important. I personally use over the counter Eskinol with cotton to gently wipe any dark foreign matters that might stick into my skin.

Final Thoughts
It takes a journey to heal acne if you experienced a severe breakout. And bringing back the skin condition after acne will take some time too.

So hopefully these tips I personally do will help you in a way to get rid of your acne and acne marks. My take on this is to make yourself healthy inside out so that how you care for your body will also show to your face. To bring back the healthy glow on the skin by living healthy and removing/preventing dark spots.

That's it for now.
