Laser Hair Removal is something that I really considered long ago, especially on my underarm area.
My underarm has gone through a lot of plucking, shaving and waxing, depending on which is convenient for me at the time. With all these hair removal methods, I started to see unpleasant effects on my underarm.
My hair thins out, in which I thought was good but the effects of thin hair are, the hair gets hard to come out from the surface that it started to get lumps and starts to look like chicken skin texture. The worst part is, it is super itchy that I can’t help but scratch it.
And from scratching my underarm started to darken. OMG!
So when I finally get the chance, I check over the internet and see prices for Laser Hair Removal.
I saw Skin Station Diode Laser Hair Removal for P1,500 pesos per session and I said to myself I will give it a try.

On the site, they said that I can get 4 sessions for P2,500, so I tried to avail it. I am also required to buy the after laser cream and liquid soap so even if I don’t want to spend another 500 pesos for both items I unwillingly submitted to their advice.
So, the session is done and I waited if there will be fallout. On the second day, I see none and I am super unsatisfied. After two, weeks when my hair started to grow of about 4-5 cm, I notice that my underarm is a little bit itchy. My initial reaction is to scratch it and I did (didn’t consider the darkening of the skin at this point).
My mind is blown when I start to see the fallout. I am super happy! But the fallout is just on a tiny area on my underarm.
I have a guess on how did that happen. This is actually my rant about my overall experience on Skin Station.
My first rant is that the staff who did my laser hair removal move the machine so fast on my underarm. There is not even direction, she just rotates it on my skin. I have no knowledge if that is the right procedure but if only she is more systematic on brushing off the machine on to my underarm very well, I believe that I will get a better result.
I got fallout on the part where I felt tolerable heat on my underarm and that was a small spot on my left underarm, just a little bit below the centre. On the most part, since she moves the machine so fast I didn’t felt any warm feeling at all, especially I have cold gel while doing the procedure.
I am not certain if the growth of the hair follicle lessens. I guess not.
Anyway, I have to give the manual they hand out a credit for accurately showing the effects of Diode Laser Hair Removal. It suggests that I really need to complete 8 sessions to fully see the effect.
If you wonder what are the expectation, Do’s and Don’ts before having diode hair laser removal this photo will answer most basic questions you have in mind.
And another thing, I recently read review online (I really don’t know why this pops out to my searches just recently and not at the time I am searching for an authentic review about laser hair removal) and one suggest that underarm diode laser hair removal is effective on her, by the way, she finishes 8 sessions so I really can’t compare that with the session I avail. One interesting comment from her reader that stands out is that she suggests pressing the machine hard on the skin so that the laser will be more effective.
That is actually my goal on my second session so wish me luck.
So, overall I think that Diode Laser Hair Removal is really effective with just one session if done properly.
I am kind of thinking about what my plan is on my next visit to Skin Station. I might go to another branch and comment my experience on my first session and hope that my second session will have the result I wanted.

hi! did the diode laser somehow lighten your underarms and minimize your chicken skin? im thinking of availing one, however i had to make sure if it's really worth it especially i have dark underarms with chicken skin
ReplyDeleteYes I believe so, because I dont scratch my underarms more often than I used to because growth of my underarm hair has I think more than a month when lazered. The itchy part for me is when the hair try to surface out of the skin. I get chicken skin when i shave and when i have ingrown so upon doing laser its definitely gone.I still have red lines on my underarm because that is just how my underarm looks like. And I am itching to complete an 8sessions its just that I need to prioritize other things for the time being.
DeleteMake sure you meet a staff who knows what they are doing. Like I said I get more results with the lady on sm fairview branch. The pain is evident but the result it great. Unlike on other branches I tried.
