Lotto Number From God |blognigigi

There are multiple times in my life when I prayed really hard and put forth my deep sincerity to ask God to let me win the lottery.

And God's answer? No.

I did not win the 23 million pesos Philippine jackpot or any other lotto draws.................ever.

But, I gain something more valuable than money.

As I grew and dream bigger, and do not see results I began to feel disappointed.

I fell a lot of times.

Chasing 'the best career', which everyone is talking about, I hit hard from chasing 'financial freedom', I grew hatred in my heart from working abroad which I thought was everybody's dream.

My dream becomes desperations.

What's wrong?

Why does God doesn't hear my prayers?

So I look around and find people who are like me- who runs after money too and became really successful.

I also found folks that are just plain successful in life.

There are a lot of realizations from listening to these people's life stories.

Work before and the Money / Blessing Flow

I came to realize that I am so wrong in how I view money/blessings from God.

Before, I thought that blessing from God or being rich means;

  •     Doing something different other than working 9-5.

  •     Blessings/ financial freedom means to keep on investing and investing until it reaches maturity and collect the fruits in due time.

  •     Blessings come when I desire to put it into work and put it out there.

  •     I will not receive blessings from God if I only lie and wait for the blessing to come.

Have you noticed anything similar from the bullets I listed above?

They all mean that money/ blessings come from WORKING ALONE and that is it.

I thought that earning money is plainly a product of your hands and God is just there to look at you being miserable when you choose to do nothing and wait for Him to knock on your door and give you a basket of money.

Relying on God? What does that mean?

This is what Dave Ramsey says about the Spirit of Pride in his book The Legacy Journey.

He says that ignoring God's role in our success is a DANGEROUS place to be.

And Dave is absolutely right.

He further explains, because it puts the full burden of the outcome on our shoulders.

I totally get what he means because I first-handedly experience it myself.

But there is still a problem.

How do I acknowledge God's role in my success?

I have no clue what that means???

Is it, clinging to the verse Matthew 21:22 'If you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.'?

Praying every night without ceasing?

Or better yet, just wait for the blessings to come, since hard work is not important that much.

The blessing that Comes From God

Then I saw another person's life story that enlightens me about getting provisions from God.

It's the life story of Larry Elder and his dad.

One piece of advice that struck me the most from Larry Elders and especially his dad is this;

' Larry you cannot control the outcome but you are  100% in control of the effort. Before you whine about somebody else did to you, go to the nearest mirror, look at it, say to yourself, what could I have done to change the outcome?'

'No matter how good you are how hard you work, bad things are gonna happen to you. How you deal to these bad things will tell your mom and me whether we raise a man.'

Additionally, in the video where Larry Elder shares his and his dad's story, a particular topic about 'rights' came up.

Larry says 'people are not demanding equal rights, people are demanding equal results.'

He continues, 'Results have to be earned. Rights come from God.'

Rights come from God! That phrase echoes in my ears.

That is so true.

No matter how hard I work, the provision is still from God.

It's in His power and glory to bless people whoever they are.

My questions up 'Why does God doesn't hear my prayers?'

And the answer becomes clear, it's God who decides to give rain or sunshine upon us and no one can contest that because He is our God.

Everything He decides is good. I might not see it yet but I am sure my situation right now is protection from God so that I may not ruin my life especially my soul in the end.

Speaking of ruining my life. I think that the piles of regret I accumulated over the years are one glimpse of even worse things that might happen to me if I continue to find happiness in a pile of money.

Rights come from God

I just like to add that my life and everybody's life is mostly dealing with other people.

Whether you get a job or not is how you present yourself to other people.

How you talk your way to the hiring manager will determine if you land a job or not.

And that hits a lightbulb in my head, the Bible keeps telling us how to deal with others.

Remember when Jesus says to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ' Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:36-40

Communication plays a big role in having a harmonious workplace.

Better yet, negotiation would be really handy in today's world.

Knowing how to negotiate I find, is a good way to always put respect in the atmosphere. In that way, I can able to practice the golden rule 'love your neighbor as yourself '.

I learned a lot of valuable negotiation principles from the book Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. This is a bit different from an autobiography but this book has real-life scenarios, and lessons we can actually put into practice on how to negotiate in our modern-day world.

So what about working hard?

I am so glad that Dave Ramsey clarified that God values hard work.

So that is what I will do.

Before I end this post, I just like to add one more video I watched about blessings.

This is the story of John D. Rockefeller narrated by a historian.

In the video, he says that John is deeply religious and put into practice the spiritual law 'Give and it shall be given unto you.'

And I like to try that principle. Because it reveals a lot of negative character I have deep down.

What I mean by that is, sometimes I will give to people on the street, but my mind keeps thinking somewhat negative about how the poor man/woman lives his/her life that they needed to beg for money.

I know for sure that God doesn't want that attitude.

And I like to challenge myself to change that negativity.

Just purely give with good intentions.

(part of my negativity comes from irresponsible giving, where I try to put a lot more than I can afford. Thank God, Dave Ramsey, opened my mind that it's also in the bible to provide for your own family because neglecting their needs is ungodly. Yes, I can give, but not to the expense of not meeting the basic needs of my family. So now, when I give, I put in my mind that I hope that the person would accept my offering because I can only afford this much so I can tend to my family.)

Adding to that law, in the bible, this is what the full verse reads.

Luke 6:38 NKJV

Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over will be put into your blossom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Final Thoughts

Would I still wait for the winning lotto number from God?

To be honest, I am not betting up to this day.

That is it for now.

Thanks for reading all the way!
