Last Day of 2021| What's been Good about 2021?

I realized that 2020 has crushed me hard spritually and financially.

Which makes me appreciate 2021 even more.

With new perspective about faith ( though still unperfect to this day) and new perspective about money. Better understanding about my hidden health issues, and being mindful of my brain functions.

2021 has opened my eyes to what is important in life.

And that is to be a good steward of the Lord and to have good relationship with everyone. Because God is in everyone, and if I hated one person, that means I hated God in a way.

Being good with everyone else is a huge challenge though.

Because, that's what I do all my life.

To resist people's authority over me.
To empower oneself. To be independent.

I hated pleasing people, I hated kiss people's ass, just to be liked.

Not sure what month/year I came across Chris Voss book Never Split the Difference, but this book has answered my problem onto kissing other people's ass.

Negotiation is the key, to not hate other people, point out your cause and still be friends with them.

Negotiation has been life changing for me this year 2021.

Using negotiation, I stopped being annoying at conversions, I can able to pass thru difficult situations and I can able work win difficult people.

Lastly, I am so thankful about my work.

I never thought I would be offered this work and I am so thankful.

    Health/brain
    Faith
    Finances/new work

That is it.

What more could I ask. After what 2020 brought me, anything is just felt like blessing this 2021.

I am grateful and thankful.

Thanks for reading all the way 💞.

It's a bit hard to look back at my 2020 / 2021 post because there's a lot of hopes in those written words. (For sure)

Nevertheless, I think its helpful to look back at it (though still a bit cringey and scary).

30's money What I do w money now vs when I was in my 20's

I think nobody wants to get rich slow.

Especially, when you are in your 20's.

20's people are the flashy people.
Wanting to show how relevant, extravagant and how "to envy are" they.

Thus, can be aggressive when it comes to earning money.

While the 30's people, I am not quite sure.

Some people make it (i mean financially), and the proof are everywhere,.

For those 30's people - who dont 😆 yet, well let's talk about that.

Pinoy Keto on a Budget

You propably struggled starting a low carb or Keto diet.

Choices and new information over internet are so confusing.

Cravings are hard to manage.

Still hungry. (when Keto or Low carb diet supposed to decrease your appetite because you stopped insulin from spiking.)

Here's what you can learn from mistakes of a newbie when going keto/ low carb.

Ultimate Pinoy Keto on a Budget

Here, you will learn what to buy on keto.

What are the important ingredients for Keto and what are the Keto products that are a waste of money.

But first let us start with equipment.

Most important equipment you need for Keto, can you guess?

No its not a coffee machine to make bullet proof coffee.

Are you taking a guess?

It's a working freezer.

Yes. A freezer.

I'll explain in a minute.

Pinoy Keto Food

Brocolli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, spinach, raddish.

Now, here's why you need freezer for.

For obvious reasons, that these vegetables spoils easily.

And for keto, its really important you eat these foods, because these vegetables will keep you full longer and will stop the cravings.

It's really a money saver when you buy a head of brocolli, a head of cauliflower, lucky if you find kale and spinach here in the Philippines (rare but possible), buy these veggies all at once and cut them up and freeze them.

A head of brocolli last me a week and i don't worry about it getting bad.

It keeps me full for a long time.

I don't eat a lot of brocolli because I get slight constipation, but its not that bad. It doesn't hurt me, I get mild constipation but I feel full longer which is more important for me.

1st Keto Product that is a Waste of Money

Green Powder 👎

(Organic kale powder, organic barley powder, organic wheat grass powder, organic spinach powder, organic moringa powder, organic pea powder)

On the attempt to eat vegetables the easy way, I bought a big bag of greens powder just to end up knowing that green powder is not the same with real food.

It does not have the same effect of keeping me full for a long time.

And since vegetables are not my favourite, its hard to swallow it down.

In reality..

I saved more money on buying a head of brocolli for 100 pesos, freeze it and pan fry it every time my tastebuds accepts it. (Like I said, a head of brocolli last me for a week and i dont have to worry about it spoiling)

It keeps me full longer. ( I intentionally mention it twice, same with cabbage)

So, can I buy other vegetables? Yes of course, but note other veggies does not give you the same effect as these cruciferous vegetables. You really need to start with these, else you will fail. Like i did.

Next Item MEAT

This is just preference but what I start with is eggs and ground beef.

I portion the ground beef into patties, put heavy salt and pepper, cut up parchment paper so they will keep separated, and that's it. (Ground beef is cheaper too and can be flexible on many dish but mainly pan fry beef patties and veggies are enough)

250 pesos worth of ground beef last me for a week or so ( My mom still cooks so this is just for back ups).

2nd keto product that is waste of money.

Supplements like minerals and fish oil.

I'm not so sure about them really.

But one thing I am sure of, relying on supplement alone does not do any good to me. (Dumb I was, wanting an easy way and make myself believe that supplement tablets will make me feel great instantly)

So, newbie mistake is do not put trust on processed products. And don't change the meaning of supplement into real/whole food, because they are not.

A powdered greens would never replace real cabbage or real brocolli.

For fish oil, not so sure. Youngs Town sardine feels really healthy and cheap and I feel really great eating them.

So, right now I feel like I wasted money buying that supplement 😟.

Final Thoughts

In my experience, no need to be in and trendy buying kale shake powder and expensive supplements to feel great in keto.

Start with the right veggies listed up. Dont change it with ampalaya or pinakbet (filipino vegetable delicacy).

Because in my experiece typical pinakbet vegetables does not make me full longer.

My opinion up was just tested in a week, I am hoping to make a 3rd month update to prove the point of this post.

As per observation of my previous post about nilagang baka (filipino soup delicacy with beef shank, potatoes, cabbage and bokchhoy) that kind of food make me full longer too and its keto approved. (Potatoes in moderation of course).

And one similiarity that anyone can notice is that it uses cruciferous vegetable cabbage and pechay.

So that might be a good indicator that right vegetables can help you to be successful on going low carb/ keto.

That is it for now.

Thanks for reading all the way.

toxic positivity? baka nakakalimutang blessed kaya stressed

I just bumped into a word toxic positivity. It's a new term for me.

Let me try to define it in my own words. (I don't know if I will laugh or get serious, hopefully, I can define it properly).

Toxic positivity is a term used that mainly says "focus on the blessing or positive things that happened to you and ditch out the negative feeling or situation you are on. "

The blessings should always be more dominant than the negative things. And bad days or negative situations are just insubstantial that complaining doesn't make sense at all.

Focus on being Blessed

Focus on being blessed sounds really good and relieving.

I think we all agree on that.

'Baka nakakalimutang blessed kaya feeling stressed?' -from a facebook post

But does focusing on your blessings remove the current problems you have?

There are multiple situations in my life that, when I try to focus on the blessings I received from the Lord, I get confused about my real priorities in life.

Well, in the first place, I really haven't figured out my real purpose in life. All I know is I need to earn money, be financially free, stop living paycheck to paycheck, and hopefully, when money is already settled, that is where I came in and help my chaotic family struggling with money.

I think the grace of the Lord is always present. Maybe that is where 'baka nakakalimutang blessed' si coming from.

But if we are blessed why are we burdened with our work. Why we face difficult people. Why are facing so many problems???

Proverbs 10:22

The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.

He adds no sorrow with it. I really love that. There is no reason to be burdened, angered, depressed nor stressed because the real blessing of the Lord is clear. He adds no sorrow with it.

Maybe the situation you are in right now is not the real blessing that God has stored for you.

To find it, maybe you needed to realign your priorities and put your focus back on the Lord.

For me, I get to know it by reading the book The Legacy Journey by Dave Ramsey.

You can read it for free on youtube. Just search for the title.

That is it for now.

self-care about career | I've been having anxiety at work.

I just saw a post on social media saying 'I've been having anxiety at work'.

It's sad that this is becoming usual to many of us.

So what to do about it?

In my case, there are two reasons why I am anxious at work.

1. Wrong perspective about success.
2. Issues about health /white tongue that causes overthinking, anxiety, and depression.

The first thing I tackle is my health issue. I wrote a comprehensive post about this you can check out here.

Just a quick overview of that post, the most effective treatment I did for my white tongue that doesn't cost much is to strengthen my immune system thru eating real food, lessen sugar/carbs, and ginger and virgin coconut oil gargle.

With regards to the right perspective about success, I learned this thru reading the book The Legacy Journey by Dave Ramsey.

There is a reason why we are all striving for success.

The book has opened my mind to what the bible says about success.

About money, that I was after.

So now, instead of focusing on getting a lot of money which becomes really stressful especially if I can't seem to reach it.

I changed my perspective about money to how God sees and uses money.

Here's the notable bible verse I get from the book.

1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Proverbs 21:20

The wise store up choice food and olive oil,  but fools gulp their down.

Investing

Parable of the Talents

I also wrote a separate post about this topic here.

I highly suggest anyone who is lost about how to view money, success or career to read the book The Legacy Journey.

You can listen to it for free on youtube just search for it.

That is it for now.
