At some point, naging life changing para sa aking ang mga financial guru.
But then again, when I try to be like them- a business-minded person, the usual encouragement to stop being an ordinary person and take a leap to become successful now becomes confusing and irrelevant.
Being just an employee will lead you to poverty.
And a lot more things.
These seems to be "encouragement" doesn't help me, doesn't help someone, who doesn't know where to start or what to do.
So where do I start and what do I do?
I don't know too.
But since I read the book The Legacy Journey by Dave Ramsey, I opt to follow his baby step, a solid plan on how to win with money.
But one thing notable about Dave Ramsey and his step-by-step plan about money.
He explained in the book that what he teaches, the baby steps, are created after he and his wife filed bankruptcy.
He learned from this bankruptcy that the common way to get rich doesn't work.
And now, his baby steps are created from what the bible teaches about money.
Like making a budget
Luke 14:28
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
Stop falling into debt.
Proverbs 22:7
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
Saving Money
Proverbs 21:20
The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp their down.
Investing
Parable of the Talents
Even tithing.
Proverbs 3:9
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
Final Thoughts
Instead of following a confusing financial guru on how to get rich, be financially free, to stop living paycheck after paycheck, I opted to follow God's teaching about money.
This time, it's not about getting rich to have a comfortable life for me and my family.
But to follow God's command on how to manage His resources. On how to be a faithful manager of God.
That is it, for now, thanks for reading all the way.
