Drinking Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) for a Month

I have expressed my full love for Virgin Coconut Oil last December as seen on Facebook,

this time I love to show to you how is my overall health, the condition of my skin and thoughts about it upon drinking it for the whole month.

Please take note that there are few times I forget to drink Virgin Coconut Oil because I just totally got lost track of it sometimes because of the hectic schedule, but I think this won't vary too much because that was just a day or two or three times.

Taste

For over a month of drinking Virgin Coconut oil, I started to get accustomed to its taste. I now don’t have the thoughts of puking when drinking a tablespoon of it every night. Good job!

Moving on.

Effects on Skin

For the acne my verdict is still the same as my previous post (Read previous post Why I Turned Herbal || Effects of Virgin Coconut Oil), it does not have a direct effect on acne, I still need to use Benzac spot treatment after washing with warm water every night to prevent me from breaking out (read previous post Benzac Comparison from Dubai vs Philippines. But one thing noticeable is that my overall skin is hydrated. When I run my nails on my arm it doesn’t leave a white line even though I did not put lotion. And my face is the same as well, I don’t know if you can relate but if you are treating your acne and you put a lot of chemicals on your face that will cause drying and make the skin layer thin. But with constant use of VCO, I noticed that my skin is well hydrated and it doesn’t look thin.

Effects on Health

Virgin Coconut Oil is really a game changer for me when it comes to health. It is like a daily vitamin for me and I am so thankful that my neighbor keeps on telling me the benefits of it that I get to try it finally.

I love how it strengthens my immune system that I don’t get a sore throat easily now. I told in the previous blog that I easily gets sick and that started 2016 or maybe 2015 but around that time I got a cold more frequently and fast forward to 2017 when I catch a cold I felt really bad, like so bad, I know that it’s hard to believe that a simple cold with a cough and phlegm will make you feel worst but it is, it’s like you have a flu but without fever. That’s how bad I felt and I know something was wrong with my overall health. Not to make you worry but this cold is curable by the prescription medicine I just get tired of drinking such strong medicine.

Another thing is my lower abdomen in which I thought my UTI before might have caused it. For the whole month I did felt a little pain on it one time but after that, I didn’t recall any reoccurrence so I am happy with that.

Thoughts about Virgin Coconut Oil

Now I cannot skip a day without drinking VCO, I love how simple it is and what it does to my overall health. Maybe you are asking why not just try a regular vitamin, I actually did and I am not so sure if I will say if it is effective because I really don’t like drinking medicine or vitamins, so after a span of a week I stopped drinking any kind of vitamins I tried. Also, I have this connotation with vitamins or medicines in general that they are not good for your kidney that is why I avoid it (I am really an all natural loving person J).

I will list down all the good effects/benefit I remember of Virgin Coconut oil below this is the result of reading articles on the internet, I did put links on where I found this information on my previous blog post in case you want to check it out.

• Good source of lauric acid naturally found in mother’s milk
• Dissolves Kidney stone
• Lowers Cholesterol
• Hydrates the skin
• Kills fungi and bacteria on skin
• A lot more than I can remember :)

Final Thoughts

I love how Virgin Coconut oil can be a perfect alternative to modern day medicine/vitamins; it is safe, cheap and no side effects. And I really love the idea that it is cold pressed meaning they did not include any heat to extract the oil from the coconut making it so natural (you know there are a lot of products out there they call ‘natural’ but they are being processed and they subject it to heat, putting them in different forms like powder, and still they still call it natural, in my head like ‘huh’?)

Also, they are very abundant here in the Philippines making the Coconut tree truly the ‘Tree of Life’. Sounds like a commercial right, but that is how I love to influence you about it because it is so good. I couldn’t think of anything bad about it except for the taste but it’s not so bad actually I’m ok with the taste of it now.

Showed in the picture that I really drink Virgin Coconut Oil now I am almost half the bottle. I like to add that I bought the VCO from our neighbor but you can also get it from Mercury Drug the name is ABS Herbs Virgin Coconut oil or any other cold pressed virgin coconut oil.

That’s it, guys!

Thanks for reading all the way!

  2. Oooh. I think I should add VCO in my diet! I'm currently doing the mediterranean diet as well as fasting to lose weight and also lower my cholesterol. Maybe this addition would help me reach my goals sooner.
